got winters 225/55. going on 17x7+45 im lowered 1 inch. will the rubber fit?! ill let you all know when it gets mounted, but that much sidewall is going to be MEAT

Also i suggest for winter tires to go narrower, due low car weight, to cut through snow slush better. For example 205 width.

yeah 205 was ideal but i decided to look for slighty used, so i got a killer good deal, but at the sacrifice of proper size. it may bite me in he ass.

do you know where it rubs? fender?, well?, susp compponents?

plus im lowered so that makes things infinitely worse

Yes that will fit stock suspension and it will poke in the front. Also, you should consider a 225/40/18 or a 245/35/18 tire. A 245/40 is way to large of a tire.

If going for staggered tire choice, remember, that it's not optimal handling wise, as will introduce extra understeer and car also will brake worse, as abs will have to delock quicker locking fronts sooner. And you will loose ability to prolong tire life with rotating them and sometimes it will reduce tire choice, as not all tires available at all sizes. If also wheels in staggered set will be different, such set will be harder to find buyer for when selling it off later on, and harder to source replacement wheel, as fronts/rears different mean that one needs different depending which is damaged.
In short, on car, which suspension and other things been designed around square tire setup, imho better same wheels & same tires front & rear, and if flush fitment is that important to one, then on one end fill difference with spacers.

+1 on what Churchx said above ^. Personally im not a fan of going staggered in this car when it wasnt designed for it nor is this car pushing crazy power. If you are boosted then its a different story. If you just want flush fitment you will be fine once you lower it it'll be pretty much flush. Just for reference 18x8 +35 is flush on 1" lowered cars and you're wheel spec is close to that.

I agree with ChurchX and Vital. I also have personal experience with staggered setups.

I thought, "how bad can staggered be?" So, I tried 4 different staggered setups. The smaller the width difference between front and rear tires the better the car drives. I am now back to square.

Additionally, when staggering tires on non-staggered wheels. The sidewall angle looks different. This bothered me.

I would go with: A 225/40/18 for a slight stretch. A 235/40 for a taller side wall, or a 245/35/18 for an OEM/correct diameter. They all will fit and provide you with enough room to add a set of camber bolts in the front. And, with a minimal amount of negative camber in the front your wheels will look great

What tire would you suggest? Most likely going to go with a 245/35/18. Rims will be fairly expensive so I’m looking to save money on the tires if possible, don’t need anything crazy sticky, just a good set of summer tires. Was thinking maybe the Federal 595 RS-R’s? Or if there are better/cheaper options I’d be open to those as well

If price is a main consideration, then 225/40 or 235/40 will be quite a bit cheaper and have more tires to choose from.

I am not a fan of the Federals. IMO, they are heavy and noisy.

Here are a few tires in the two sizes above, that are less expensive, and get good reviews. I just suggested these tires a few days...

Yokohama ADVAN FLEVA V701 - I have read good things
Sumitomo HTRZ5 - had the HTRZIII in the past, these are suposed to be better
Hankook V12 Evo2 - I am running these , good for the money , very sticky
