That is half of the chain tire shops I have been to anyway. I went back to discount tire and made them remount my tires properly and got rid of around an ounce per wheel. Lazyness

Do y’all really think a second gen car is a reality? If the project is in its infancy then.. I don’t expect it to be available anytime before MY23.

Besides Tada San has mentioned Zupra was the last non electrified sports car from Toyota so I’d Expect some level of electrification if this actually happens. But I really have no faith in Toyota making a sequel

They officially announced it a few weeks ago (hence this thread). So yeah, baring a really bad economic recession in the near future, the 2nd gen is coming.

Yes it is a reality as officially stated in a Toyota news release:Details of business activities in the new alliance

  1. In pursuit of making ever-better cars beyond that achieved thus far by Toyota and Subaru

  1. Bringing together both companies' strengths to jointly develop all-wheel-drive models that offer the ultimate sensation in all-wheel driving
  2. Joint development of the next-generation Toyota 86 and Subaru BRZ
Now, when and exactly what it will be remain in the air. What is is almost guaranteed NOT to be is the same as it is now.

Give the new car a backward compatible factory supercharger so those of us who jumped on the 1st-gen and made it all possible can have factory warrantied forced induction.

If you still enjoy it, then how would it be obsolete

Unless you are one of those "have to have the latest and greatest" people, which is okay if that is what you are into.

If theres one thing that early adopters of forced induction have taught toyota it's that this platform can't handle it if held to oem reliability standards.

Lol. No. And I've really enjoyed this car. It's been my first fully modern car, with more cup-holders than ashtrays. But I'll be a bit envious for sure if the next-gen 86 has a 2.5 or 3 litre flat-six or something. I'd just love a little more torque. I'll do something for this poor little car someday, just not right now. I'm attending school for the first in my life after a 17-year stint in manufacturing.

I think at best we will see a 2.4 NA flat 4 as many others have speculated. So I wouldn't get too envious. Unless they improve the oiling on the FA/FB series motors there won't be much to write home about.

I start again this winter term too.
