Dear Tada-san,

We are excited about the second generation FT-86. When you try to improve the FT-86, please retain the following attributes of the first generation FT-86:

(1) Pricing - the current FT-86 delivers 90% of the performance for 50% of the price of a Supra. This is a tremendous value proposition. Please keep pricing in line with current offering, ie about US$30,000 (pre-tax) for the US and Japan markets.

(2) No turbo or hybrid engine, a boxer-4 normally aspirated engine will be best. Incorporation of the Toyota New Dynamic Force technology to boost power and efficiency will be much appreciated.

(3) Keep it modification friendly and easy.

(4) Keep away all the non-driving related gadgets, no need for power seats, seat heating, seat massage, inter-net connectivity, automatic driving, power sunroof, or electronic suspension.

(5) Keep the mechanical limited slip differential and manual transmission.

(6) Keep the design pure and simple.

After all, please remember: 'Primum non nocere - first, do no harm'.

Thank you.

can i ask for a hot girl that loves being the passenger on long drives, listens to good music, and always knows where the good burger joints are on road trips?

That list is well intentioned but ridiculous. Why no turbo?

soundman98 10-02-2019 12:48 AM

i want a 2 liter v12. supercharged.

I want pop-up headlights. Subaru version can have fixed lights.

I wish they would include a slow moving vehicle triangle to stick on the back.

Please no new motors. Use one from an existing platform with turbo. Dont need anymore recall fatigue

One tweak to number 4: mine has heated seats and living in Canada I'm quite happy about that (already started using them).

Turbos can be saved to be added on special models (TS/STI).

Keep the skinny, easy to slide tires for production so people can play. The enthusiasts will put their own sticky tires on anyway.

Keep the seats nicely bolstered and the contrast stitching on the interior pieces.

The remainder of my comments regarding second gen pretty much have to do with changes/improvements and thus belong in a different thread.

Use a 1.2 liter turbo charged i4! So that I can sell mine at a good price. Haha
