My 04 turns on rails. All the braces and bushings really changed the car. But man the poly bush in my anti lift kit gets me every day. I feel every crack that is perpendicular to the car/road. Railroad crossings suck. Literally can shake loose fillings. And that ones a bitch to change. At least most of these braces you can just unbolt if they are harsh.

It is common for Toyota to add a fender brace to the A-post, many Lexus models (IS250, GS350, etc) have them OEM.
It is interesting that TRD only adds the fender brace and a stiffer v-brace in the engine bay for the 14r-60, for chassis re-inforcement. I added a non-TRD front fender to A-post brace and it was a very worthwhile mod. I think braces are becoming more popular, as a standard OEM fitment. If you look at certain GM models (eg the ATS) or BMW's, you will find a lot of braces already fitted. I read that GM claimed 30% improvement in chassis stiffness from the braces added to the ATS. While I can't measure the incremental benefit of each brace, but in principle, added stiffness should generally lessen chassis flexing, hence fewer rattles down the road. The only surprise is a quotation from Tada-san, in an interview of Supra, when he claimed that too much stiffness actually slowed the car down! |

I can say that I remember my butt Dyno feeling the fender cowl braces I did from turn in concepts on my 04 WRX. But who knows?

Do you think this does anything?
https://www.japanparts.com/parts/detail/?id=53482 It seems to brace a single part. |

Exactly. Does it make sense? I mean does it give any benefit to brace the mounting bolts together?

Looks like it bolts to upper mount for the rear shocks. There are two studs from the shock mount that poke up into the trunk right there. I don't believe there is anything else they could bolt to in that location.
