I don't think all young drivers are inherently bad, but the wrecks so far have not been from "old" guys. I think old on this forum means people over 30 like me. hahaha. Anyway, congrats on the swapped Cressida.

Back to topic, this turbo kit looks promising. 4psi is probably all it really needs. The boost is what is filling the low end torque valley of the stock dyno graph.

Same here. You have to be really rough with the inputs. That's the only way I've gotten the car to misbahave so far.

Swapped Cressida = awesome. MT Cressida is awesome enough, I still look around for one to build every 6 months or so.

edit: already answered... but.

TQ/HP will always cross at 5252 which is what you are seeing, but you are confusing the TQ curve of the car post turbo/tune as the horsepower curve of the baseline pull.

The only place it is down on power is <2,900rpm and that's likely from the dyno and not reality.

The humiditiy last night was pretty bad. I suspect the HP is a fuzz higher than we actually dyno'd. The car feels like a different animal. We'll keep pushing it farther as we go. Both of us had worked from 9am yesterday to 4am today on the car. Needless to say we were both delirious.

I calculate a 32.43% rear power increase at current....

At fly if in preportion
200*1.3243 = 264.86hp

Not sure of drivtrain calcs.

13.0925 per PSI
6 PSI*13.0925 = 240.05WHP
6 PSI at fly estimate 297HP

Thats if it will take it and if all the variables are at the same as they are on last dyno
Oh and if my math is right. if not feel free to correct me...

Nice thread and awesome project.

I am curious when the fuel system will tap out. Are you guys mainly adding fuel through the port injectors or through the DI injectors?

Also, has EcuTek or anyone figured out what the injection strategy is on this engine? I'm assuming on startup it probably uses a distributed injection with only the DI injectors then switches to a single firing with possibly the port injectors doing some amount of work.

Not behind the wheel. We were not pressing that hard on it. We didn't feel the need to crank on the 4psi it was producing. I noticed today while driving it, it actually creeps a little bit. Peaks around 3 and creeps to 4. Probably why the tq is so linear

Its all relative to your foot. I'll watch the MPG's on this next tank.

Which dyno graph are you looking at. It makes more power the entire time!

It sounds like it's difficult to tune correctly. What are the implications of this for having it tuned locally?

Having already gone through this once before, from N/A stock to turbo on my current car, I'm curious if the ECU has any provisions for tuning while in boost? My car had none, so my tuning capabilities were limited until I went with EIC and 4 extra port injectors. Even then I had no ability to adjust timing while in boost with the stock ECU.

Just curious on what you guys found while tuning it.

I was dragging getting up this morning. I had a rough time falling to sleep after pounding around the streets at 3am OPEN WASTEGATE. I'm sure people were wondering what the hell all the noise was.

I've never run the dyno that late at night before. I can't believe the police did not come.

My initial impression of this kit is fairly good. I myself need more power and i'll work that out as we go along. I spent a lot of time and money on this kit to make it perform the best it can in a long term general public perspective.

John Visconti drove here yesterday from Chicago. Dredged a monsoon and worked til 4am with me last night. If that doesn't say anything about his character, I don't know what to tell you. He spent countless hours fixing and revising and working out the bugs. The cars obviously not 100%, John and ECUtek will sort it out. I'm not that concerned about the tuning, although I must admit i'm not used to sitting in the background while someone else is tuning.

That being said, hats off to John and EcuTek and lets turn the boost up!:happy0180:
