Should I replace the clutch at 38k miles?

Unless, that is,... OP, would you say it's possible that you are in the habit of goosing it before fully engaging the clutch? So the engine goes "eeeee-awwww" when you dump it? It's a common noob thing that can be hell on clutches over time. Other than that, I bet it's practically new.

Do you mean starting from a standstill? I might be, for probably the first 10k on the car I'd get the rpm's up to like 1-1.5k and let the clutch out slowly to get a smooth start. Now I just get to the catch point and match gas to clutch when starting off.

What do you guys thing? I trust this dealer and you know what maybe I haven't been the nicest to this clutch, but I do think its a bit early to be having all of those components replaced.

If the dealer is only going to charge for parts, why would they recommend replacement if they are going to supply the labor for free?

Just get TOB replaced. If you know how to drive stick and are staying NA don't do the clutch or flywheel. Replaced my clutch at 64k due to massive TOB failure (2013) and I could have gone quite a bit longer on the clutch and I am still using my same OEM flywheel. I went with a southbend stage 2 due to being boosted.

They're still getting plenty of money. Mark up on parts is significant, often 100-200% +. We have small parts over 800% mark up.

Parts and service keep dealers open. No one is working for free.

I wish!

Mostly hardware and little things. Cost us $.75, sells for $6. That adds up over hundreds (thousands?) of parts per month. Mercedes is obsessed with "one time use" fasteners. That M14 caliper bolt could easily shear off if you tighten it twice
