It really just feels like the motor wants another 500-1000 RPM to play with

I completely agree with this. Sound wise it seems like it wants to keep coming.

P.S. You finally got your ride Works?

On many cars the fuel cutoff "harshness" is relative to what gear you're in when hitting the limiter. The higher the gear the less harsh the cut is.

Hmm my opinion of the BRZ/FRS fuel cut is that it's damned soft.

Faster? That depends. It's not always faster to have an upshift and then a downshift vs just leaving it against the limter for a half second or a second. It's also a lot smoother with two less chances to misshift or upset the car with a bad shift.

In my other cars there are certain turns at any given track that I will just bounce off the limiter at on purpose. I'm sure the same will be true with the BRZ, it has been in autocross already.

Your as bad as my girl friend. She is known to hit people for saying they have "seen" something.
I use the speak to text on my phone a lot for typing. I tend not to proof read it.

Back on subject..... The limiter does not seem as harsh as it did a fue months back. Either it has changed or I am use to it now.

That wasn't my experience; I found the limiter is very abrupt compared to my Cooper S. You could ride the limiter for over a second and the car would not even slow down, it just stopped accelerating. The first time I hit the limiter in the FR-S, the deceleration was so quick, I thought something broke. Mind you, I was in 1st gear at the time.

Actually, now that I think about it; the MINI is nearly out of torque when you get near the redline, while the FR-S is deep in the power band. That would explain the difference I feel when it hits the limiter.
