How much more noise is introduced into the cabin with this? The stock system uses an outer rubber boot below the body and a double rubber boot to seal the hole in the chassis. This seems like you would have a large hole left open.

Nevermind, just found another pic of the shifter. The bottom is solid so there is no hole in the chassis.

This shifter introduces a considerable amount of noise to the cabin especially while sitting at a light. The reverse lockout button rattles while cruising and tge shifter itself begans to rattle really bad after 3k rpms.

Can I get an update from IRP owners regarding the rattle? I'm in the market for one and I really like the IRP short shifter but not if it rattles. With the "fix" from IRP, is the rattle completely gone?

Professionally installed last November, and mine rings like a bell. Shop verified with the vendor that it was the "most up-to-date version". My BRZ isn't a daily driver so I don't mind it, especially in light of how great the shifter feels.

Thanks, guys. I appreciate the reply. That's a deal breaker for me, unfortunately.

(Slightly off-topic)
I read in a FS thread that my 2018 Toyota 86 GT Black already has the same short shifter that's sold online as "JDM STi" or "JDM TRD" short throw shifters (not to be confused with the US TRD Quick Shifter one). If this is true, I might just stick with it. I already like the feel and the only reason why I considered the IRP was because the taller lever, and even shorter throw, are characteristics of an aftermarket shifter I find appealing. But the rattle is a deal breaker.
