Shifteck Short Shifter Review

REVIEW OF SHIFTECK SHORT SHIFTER

Hi Guys,

After finishing up all the modifications on my car the only mod I've been having difficulties with is with Shifteck's short shifter (last/final production version). When shifting a low RPMs the shifter shifts in all gears without issues. However, when shifting at higher RPMs and shifting downwards (into the EVEN gears) it is rough sliding into them. When getting on the throttle hard and shifting hard, all shifting seems very difficult to slide exactly into place.

Another issues to point out is the reverse knob. When pulling up can get caught on the plastic internals at the top causing it to not fully engadge. I had to file the metal clip from getting caught when the reverse knob is pulled up.

Lastly, the shifter is a little bit noisy but that was the least of my worries since I rather have functionality.

Mods:
-Clutchmasters FX350
-MTEC Shifter Springs
-AMS Oil Gear Lub
-Shifteck Short Shifter
-Other awesome modes not related to transmission...

They have some very terrible customer service and they are refusing to ship out a replacement. So what they have is a returned short shifter and my money. Real nice guys.

That sucks man. Only even gears don't work when downshifting...that is really odd. Trade it in for the kartboy one? There has been a lot of good things said about that kit.

I had one of these shifters. It rattled like crazy and the gears were very notchy and sometimes hard to get into gear.

Luckily I purchased from a vendor on here who refunded me once I returned.

I would stick with one of the known proven shifters although they are 2x the price.

Figured I'd give it a try since the price was right. I did order a Kartboy yesterday and plan on swapping it out.

Well, wanted to write a review on this shifter so our fellow thread members are in the loop of knowledge.

Haha, I needed the white plastic brace and didn't want to cut through it...so long story short with a little bit a beers in me, that stock shifter handled a sawzaw very well but, I didn't expect the Shifteck to suck.
