Winjet Foglight Install Help

I just finished wiring up the fog lights and when I went to turn on the car all I got was clicking. Im assuming when I tapped into one of the ingnition wires for the switch I created an issue. I used their plastic quick connect that they supplied and tapped the red wire from the switch into the lower right wire indicated in the picture. Can anyone assist? What can I do to get my car running again.

Thanks

Edit: Just checked the battery terminals and they were only reading 11.5V. I hooked the battery up to a charger which read 13V when connected, tried to start the car, got one crank then nothing. Any thoughts?

Let it charge for a while and then try again

Could there be a huge battery drain? Should it work after letting it charge what do you think the possibilities are that it will happen again?

Also I noticed that the window didn't rise and the cabin light stayed on when I closed the door, so the car seems to think the door is still open. Is this also due to the lack of voltage?

Maybe during the fog light install you drained the battery too much. By having the doors open for a while and having the headlights on?

Car started after an hour or so of charging, fog lights did not turn on. I suspect there is an issue with how I wired the lights that might also be leading to a drain. Any ideas how I can track this down? Sorry for all the questions.

I dont know how confident you are on that wire you tapped in to for being a good power source. Sounds like maybe you should undo that tap and hopefully it didnt create a break in the wire.
There is a factory connector in the harness for the OEM fog lights that can be used. that takes advantage of the existing wiring and relay. However, you lose the ability to turn the fogs on/off as desired regardless of headlight operation.
see this thread and my post at the end.

Thanks for posting this. I've got a '13 FR-S and physically installed the Winjet foglight kit about two years ago.. but never wired it... too chicken to risk messing up factory wiring, and not enough experience to find the best place to access the needed ignition-switched power source for the dash switch. The winjet kit I have came with a fuse and relay to be mounted in the engine compartment and wired directly to the battery and chassis ground; the dash switch just triggers the relay. I don't recall seeing the connector inside the side dash panel you showed in your pic when installing my switch, but I'll look again. Since I'm using the Winjet-supplied relay and fuse, do I only need to tap into one of the wires in that connector for the switch (along w/ a ground connection, of course) and, if so, which one?

Thanks .. it'd be great to finally get this figured out and have my foglights work as intended.. automatically switch off when hibeams are activated or headlights are off, and only work when lobeams are on.

So if you want the factory operation like you said, then you wont need the winjet harness (mostly), fuse, relay, or make any direct battery connections. The built-in factory wiring, fuse, and relay is already there. Using that connector shown in the pic is the way to accomplish that. I found it further up under the dash to the far left. Pretty much like the pic shows.
I did take advantage of the winjet harness for the fog lamp connectors and any wire needed. That OE instruction sheet is good for reference too.
http://www.trdsparks.com/install/PT413-18130inst.pdf

It shows how to use the parking lamp connectors to power the fog lights. So you will run wiring from those to the fog lamps and also for a ground. Then the switch needs installed and wired to the factory connector. I think I recall Winjet supplied a short harness with connector to the back of the switch. So i must have cut off the factory connector and spliced them together. I put color coding on the other posting as you saw.

Since you have the lamps already mounted you might be able to do that wiring without removing the bumper again.

EDIT: sorry I didnt really answer your actual question there... Assuming you are using the Winjet harness since its already installed and wired to the lamps. I found that factory connector had a white wire that seemed to be hot with ignition on. But I would suggest testing that and the operation of the lamps using that as a tap source.
The factory wiring and relay takes care of the fog lamp on/off operation with the headlamps. I dont recall how the Winjet install handled that, if it does at all. Hopefully their instruction info makes that clear.

Good Luck.
