My autocross tires are 245 section RE71Rs, and I can't see how you could possibly consider them anywhere near as "user friendly" at the limit!
I ran 245 and 225 RE71Rs, and 235 NT01s on the BRZ this year at all the COMSCC events. I found them to be extremely user-friendly at the limit. Particularly in heavy rain with standing water! In which conditions I was able to catch and pass faster cars on Hoosier H2Os. Specifically because I was able to catch the car easily after losing grip, so I could drive much closer to the limits of grip more of the time.

Actually, I have to say I now recall that my student's spins on OEM tires was in wet conditions, and we had wet conditions at the track that day at Palmer on the RE71Rs. So now that I think about it, he was specifically worried about controllability in the wet and was very relieved to find the RE71Rs to be *more* controllable in those conditions.

But that said, I've found the RE71Rs to be extremely driveable at and beyond the limits in the dry on my car.

To clarify, I'm not saying that the RE71Rs aren't "user friendly" either. I'm just saying that I believe they aren't AS easy to control as the stock tires. I have no issues driving them at the limit either, but I still think they're more temperamental than the stock tires, which are very laid back, and buttery smooth in their transitions.

Well if it was in the wet, that changes things a little bit. The OEM primacy are really really poor in the wet, unpredictable at best, whereas the RE71R are incredible in the wet and are more confidence inspiring.

I put some Mich PS4S's on my '18 PP, really transformed the car. Haven't found the limit on public roads. The amount of speed you can carry through a turn is a bit crazy. But I have to be honest, I do miss the little mini drifts that I could pull off at 10mph in parking lots or around small turns when no one was around. I don't think I'll ever go back, but that sure was fun!

I put some PS4S on after the stock tires broke loose too easily on wet roads. I managed to get them to chirp once mashing the gas going from a stop into a hard right turn and that's about it.

I've driven a bunch of others' with all different tire/suspension combinations and, although they all stick more, they also feel numb.

Hell, I can still tell when my tire pressure drops by only a couple psi.
If you're serious, I have a set of 2013 FR-S OEM tires up here with about 2,000 miles on them you can have if you want to come up and get them.

Shortly after the car was new, I bought a set of 50,000 mile all-season tires, that was 5 years ago and they only have 20,000 miles on them. So, at that rate, they will outlast me -

True - but, all the more fun - the more they harden off, the more the car's rear end REALLY kicks out -
