Coilover supporting mods?

Hey guys, I'm getting ready to purchase coilovers for my BRZ, and I'm thinking of going with the Tein Flex Z (or A).

I plan on getting rear LCA's, and I was wondering if I would need front end links as well? I've read a lot about the stock end link bolts rusting together, requiring cutting. Would I be good with regular end links, or should I get adjustable?

Are there any recommended brands for LCA's/End links, and do you guys think I'd be better off splurging on the Flex A's for my daily driver?

If it helps, I don't plan on going very low, maybe 1-1.5" at the most.

Only a problem if your car has seen snow.

If the tein's don't come with end links you are fine to re-use originals.

I'd recommend taking a serious look at the CSG-spec Tein Flex A over the standard issue ones. More money, but light years ahead in terms of performance.

They are custom valved and sprung - and track-tuned by a VERY fast 86-platform driver who really knows his shit.

How do they perform on the street.

I've used track focused coils for some of my club cars, brilliant on the track but a nightmare on the street.

In saying that, I am by no way saying they are a bad choice, unless you do alot of driving on sub par roads.

I would say yes to needing at least new front links.

I only have a 20mm drop and required new front links.

Both of those sets of coils have front camber adjustment. But, not rear. You would need LCA's to adjust rear camber.

LCA's are on the list. Just not sure which brand(s) are worth checking out.

Would this be necessary for purely daily driving? I have no aspiration of tracking this car. It will be a show build & daily.

I've heard mixed reviews from people here in California who have had issues with theirs, without seeing any snow. Seems to be a grab bag.

Thanks for the replies, everybody. To reiterate, this car won't be seeing track time, so comfort is definitely a plus. If the Flex A is really that much better than the Z, I don't mind spending a little more.

If there are other recommendations, in terms of brands for both Coilovers & LCA's, I'm open to further suggestions!

I'm assuming end links don't need to be adjustable, so if I did get a new set, a standard one-size should be fine, correct? I'm not really sure how much tension/preload would be put on the sway bar if I lowered by 1", respectively.

A lot of people go for SPC. With a mild drop, the SPC arms will be more than enough to correct your rear camber. They are easy to adjust and your alignment tech will love you.

The only downside is that they're not flashy, and look like stock lcas. Not sure if that's something you would consider, but I did see that this would be your show car.

White line is cheaper than SPC (still the same thing as SPC) but comes in silver.

$200 on eBay or amazon, it’s a good choice for those who don’t want spherical bearings in their lower control arms.

Street ride quality is far more surprising that it's hard to imagine. There has been a small compromise made to cut the cost down for the final product as the development and the valving spec started to get a little on the higher end of the spectrum.
