I sold my 2013 at close to 50k miles, it had a 4th gear grind from probably all the track events I was doing.

The next owner had the transmission replaced under warranty without issues at a friendly dealership.

Next time you get a car like this new, find a better dealer to work with.

+1 defects happen, this sounds like a shitty dealership story, not a shitty car story.

There are so many more nightmarish experiences, people with holes in their engine blocks getting jerked around, early DI seal failure, AVCS issues, not having the car for months on end, etc.

When mine goes it's off to the junkyard, ebay, or someone selling theirs local, $600 and a grimy afternoon and back on the road. Transmission may not be bulletproof in this thing, but when it works well it's very good, and imho mine feels better at 73k than it did at 7.3k

You shouldn't have any issue ridding yourself of the car, given it is at about 50K miles. Yes you may lose some money in the deal so you'll have to decide if its worth it to you. That said the minute you bought a car you signed up to lose money on it, that's just the way it works.

Your only other alternatives are 1) to continue to fight the good fight, shopping for a dealer willing to fix it, or going to Subaru corporate, but it looks like you've exhausted that avenue. Given you are approaching the drivetrain warranty, I'm guessing you have run out of road on that one 2) pay to have the problem fix.

I suppose option 3) is to live with it.

As far as the fuel pump, realize that not everyone had the issue, and in the end it isn't even really an issue, as the pump was functioning fine, it was just noisy.

My friends have told me the same thing and I know you all are right. What’s holding me back is I don’t want somebody to have my address (which you have to write on the title) and then come to kill me. I’m legitimately concerned.

Another note, for those curious... I’m not sure I want to share which dealership, but actually the original dealership who did the replacement is a different dealership than the one I’ve had issues with since.
