How to make an FRS sound better

Hello everyone,

New to this site and posting first time. I have had my FRS for 2 years now and i am finally ready to make some modifications to it. Firstly, i want it to sound better as the stock sound is not the best, so i am wondering what i should be looking into doing first? Any opinions or suggestions are welcome. Idea is to start with exhaust then new wheels/rims and then body

If any of you have specific shops that you have taken your FRS/BRZ in the GTA for work and they have done a good, please let me know

Thank you!

What are you goals for the car? Depending on future goals, your exhaust choice may be somewhat different. Sound is also subjective, have you listened to any on Youtube or in person that strike your fancy?

We're going to need some more information from you before we can suggest anything. Send us some clips!

Hi DarkPira7e,

Thank you for your reply. I am looking to achieve something like this video at 0:41(ft86 speedfactory) in terms of sound [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYnGevbwQMI[/ame]

For future goals i am looking to achieve something looking like a rocket bunny. I understand that going the rocket bunny route may be expensive but i am open to ideas

I'm pretty sure the exhaust at 0:41 is a rebadged MXP Comp RS, isn't it ?

Step 1: get an exhaust

And you're done!

Seriously though, this is so subjective that there's not even really a point to ask for advice anymore. There are literally SO MANY different exhausts available for this car, along with endless combinations of exhaust/front pipe/over-pipe/header etc. that there really is no 2 cars that sound exactly alike. And everyone has a completely different opinion of what sounds "good" and what doesn't, so someone may recommend an exhaust to you that you won't even end up liking.

My advice? Go to some local meets, check out some cars in person, see what you like the look of, and see if that owner would be polite enough to start it up and give you a couple of revs so you can see what it sounds like.

There is no shortage of meets to the Toronto area and you can hear all sorts of different combos. In fact hearing a stock exhaust may be the biggest challenge of all.
I don't think I have ever met a guy at a car meet that would decline to start their car for any reason. In fact most (including myself) will start it up if given even the flimsiest excuse.
