I use AMSOIL Signature Series, and do 10,000 mile interval oil changes. Sometimes I go an entire season of autocross on the same oil. No issues as of yet! About to hit 60,000 miles.

Off the shelf Mobil 1 and Shell are used in F1 and all other motorsports cars. As long as the oil meets the standard in the owners manual it's fine.

So ignorant.
I'm at 74k been using mobil 1 0w30 for 50k. Toyota brand motor oil pretty much is mobil 1, look it up. I posted my last used oil analysis on this thread. https://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=122925 |

I've had a parts store employee tell me he won't run mobil 1 in his BMW 335 (tuned to something like 450hp, I suppose) because he said it burns off. I have no experience in turbocharged engines but the idea that oil can be cooked inside a turbo is something to consider.
Since this is now a "what oil are you running" thread, over the weekend I switched from Castrol 0w20 to their 5w30 and am enjoying a quieter engine and smoother revs on my 93k mile car. Though there is something that is concerning me, on startup there was a significant clicking noise that would happen randomly as the car was warming up this morning. If it continues I might take a video. I figured it might be from the AVCS system's oil actuators , solenoid. |

I use Mobil 1 Full Synthetic for approx 2 oil changes so far. About to order as we speak for 3rd oil change, which will be ~9K miles total using it.
Stuff has 5/5 rating on Amazon: http://a.co/7kvDlsZ

In fact, I know some people in professional motorsports (like FD) who run T6 in their vehicles as well. Some people are weird. I don't see any benefit in mixing different oils. But then again, Subaru people do some weird (stupid) shit. Probably why so many of them blow their engines and complain about the lack of reliability.

This quote should be handed with every set of Subaru Car Keys. So many Subaru run EJ turbo motors with low oil levels, ignore key maintenance, practice launching in parking lots....... then post threads "my car has a knock what should I do"

I've only put Mobil 1 synthetic advanced fuel economy or extend mileage in my car and I have 116k miles. Never had it really burning any oil and I usually do oil changes at 7,500 miles. I've also had no engine problems *knock on wood* And I remember there is a thread somewhere basically claiming that Mobil 1 is the same oil subaru sells from the dealership has Subaru Oil.

My FRS spun a bearing with full oil in it so I don't think Subarus only die due to low oil levels. I've found literally no evidence of packing seal blockage during the tear down. It's just poorly engineered when it comes to oil delivery and prioritizing.

I agree. It trips me out when someone reports an engine failure and fail to disclose their oil level. Then when asked about their oil level they casually say, "It was down 4qt". Down 4qt may as well be empty. Hahaha.

74k on mine, most of which were with mobil 1. I change it every 3500-5000 miles depending on how much track time between intervals, but I've had zero issues.
