FYI, Boxer engines hate Mobil 1 oil, don't know what about Mobil 1 it is but I know most Suby guys wont run it because the UOA's show excess wear.

I havent really burned any like people would complain about (had an sti for 3 years prior to this car). Im at 45k miles and used M1 about half the time. About to aend in a UOA to find out if it holds true for this motor.

Wow, I just posted this in another thread.

Boxer engines do not hate any brand. In certain driving conditions, especially modified, turbocharged boxers prefer a more robust oil than the typical Resource Conserving oils which are designed to shear for fuel economy. Mobil1 0W-40 is an excellent choice for these applications. Mobil1 is the most popular synthetic oil in the world. You can probably point me to a turbocharged boxer uoa on Mobil1 where M1 5W-30 sheared to a 20 grade, but that's not unusual at all. Not so sure that there are uoa's showing excess wear.

There is absolutely zero uoa evidence (that I have seen) showing that Mobil1 0W-20 or 5W-20 is not a good choice in a BRZ/FR-S.

Please post it in the ongoing uoa thread!
