Accidentally shifting into Neutral

So, say you're quickly shifting up from a stop and you try to shift 3rd to 4th but end up in Neutral and you mash the throttle. Car goes "MMMM!!!" --- is this also considered a "money shift"?
It sounds like a money shift, but its in neutral instead of 2nd... so ...is there any harm done..?

Nope, you can't overspin the engine unless you truly moneyshift.

Don't worry, you're fine

The rev limiter will still work in neutral. As said the only way to over rev is to shift from one gear to one that is way too low for the speed which makes the drive train force the engine to go faster than it should.

Trying for a hard shift from 4th to 5th and getting 3rd. It is possible to miss 3rd from 2nd and get 1st but it is hard to do.
You let the clutch engage and spin the c--- out of the engine, or is it the c--- that comes out of the engine? Either way not good.

Down shifting and over revving is considered a miss calculation. Both fall under the heading of oh s---.

It should be ok, but there is a potential danger to the manifold.

Only if you downshift from 16 to 9
