If we can get a overall list together, we will be able to put these exhaust on a list form. The only thing is variable factors that contribute to making the exhaust louder or quieter.

So I would like to keep this list with a catback on the vehicle only. I know sound is subjected but to have a rough estimate is better than nothing. This is my list from what I have heard in person.

Loudest
Berk Catback
Greddy EVO 3
Invidia N1
ARK DTS
ARK GRiP
HKS Legamax (Axleback)
Perrin
Stock
Most Quiet
This thread is really good but needs to be updates

I want to know where the TRD places here?

This list is incredibly subjective to the point of being almost meaningless. It is just one person's opinion and not definable in any manner.
The stock exhaust comes in about 80 dB and the max would be under 100 dB. Everything will fall someplace in that range. Even people taking reading can be off unless they are done under the exact same conditions. Many of the exhaust may have identical decibel min and max but seem louder due to tone and rasp. A high pitched exhaust at 85 dB will not sound as loud as a deep toned one which also measures 85 dB.

Don't forget about exhausts quieting down after a while due to carbon build up

LOL Glad you put the belly roll at the end of that! If your car builds up enough carbon to quiet the exhaust you have much bigger issues than noise to deal with.

Never heard Perrin, but have heard TRD and Greddy SP Elite, and the TRD is louder than Greddy. TBH, the Greddy is virtually indistinguishable from stock at idle, and only has the slightest growl when accelerating. If I were shopping mufflers, it'd be my choice. Stealth always wins for a street car. Unfortunately I think it's discontinued...

You should know that I am 100% against that train of thought.

I do but many would not! One of the biggest myths out there and there are many that will argue to the death that it happens.

Oh, really!

Just grab ah hold of a .357 mag revolver and start firing (with no earplugs).

The first round coming out of a clean barrel is the loudest ...... the others aren't nearly as loud, because the barrel has a carbon build up .....

lolwut (I know you're trolling)

The only thing happening is people losing their hearing from the exhaust getting louder over time as the packing blows out or the baffles rust out.

Im talking about actually driving the car. Revving a car at iddle the TRD is loud compared to most but that volume doesnt change much when there is load on the system (as opposed to virtually anything out there). I assumed the sound level when actually driving was what mattered. Also, the sound level changes a lot if using catless headers vs stock headers. In my case, it was comparing catless headers on both sides.

I've been running the Thermal R&D catback before I installed my header and after. With the factory front pipe, OpenFlash UEL header and the cat-back I am well within the SCCA noise limits. Zero drone and a smooth sound.
