A lot of this "400Z" reporting is from AutoCars. Definitely fake news...

This is an attempt to try and steal spotlight from the Supra. If Nissan actually ends up making a Z replacement it will probably be worse than the 370z in terms of driver involvement. I'm not going to hold my breath on this one.

I remember the discussions on the Z forums back when I drove a 350Z and was more active in the online Z community...
The majority wanted what amounted to a Floridian snow man. 1 More power 2 Less weight 3 About ten-grand cheaper. |

No this is a car blog slamming another car blog for starting rumors. Nissan has no part in it and are not trying to steal any spotlight. How can anybody even remotely think that article said they were considering a new car?

Look, there are all varieties of vehicles and manufactures in the market. What is good by one metric could be poor by another. If we analyze Nissan against their peers, what we find is that Nissan is doing great in sales. While there are loyalists to a brand, most people cross shop for the best value for them when looking for a vehicle in a given class. To that end, Nissan is doing great in sales, which is likely a reflection that they are able to offer a vehicle with great value. It doesn't make the Rogue a great SUV or make the Altima or the Sentra great cars, but it is highly unlikely that they don't make good vehicles. |

Point is, anything exciting and innovative died a while ago in the nissan brand. Every now and then a neat concept comes out but their current stable is a snoozefest save the GTR, which is great, but long overdue for a changeup. Enjoy whatever nissan you have or are buying!!!! |

Again, where is the evidence? Where is the link? I’ve provided links. You keep claiming things about Nissan without links. The claim hasn’t been demonstrated nor does the math add up to substantiate any secondary claim that their vehicles aren’t good. And the other point is everything innovate and exciting died from many brands. Until the 86, what did Toyota have that was exciting? At least Nissan had a sports car in the Z and the GTR for a while. What about Honda? They released the NSX how many years after the GTR? The Type R just came to the states to give the Civic more appeal than a suped up econobox? It is not like the other guys have done much to break the status quo. I’m no Nissan fan boy, but I’m saying their position in the market suggests they are building good cars. |

You could compare companies all day long, certain companies just have more of a loyal following than others and don't need neccesarilly develop a new following at this time. The car market is very cyclical. |

Honestly, having driven one, I don't know how it could get much worse. Quote:

I'm not going to try and defend Nissan here but lets be honest. This is almost every auto manufacturer lately. They all make their money selling boring appliances to non-enthusiasts. The simple act of saying the cars are "sporty" is more important than if they actually are. Look no farther than that "grounded to the ground" drivel that Toyota was putting out about the Camry a few years back. Now they have an 86 they could actually market that way and other than a short drifting ad, they haven't done anything. Heck, that one might have even been a Subaru ad. I don't remember for sure. |
