I was looking to keep the car bone stock besides the wheels and tires for now seeing as how I just got it and can't quite afford all kinds of things for it yet. These wheels look really good, price very well, and seem to have only positive feedback from other owners (found a thread about them here: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...=64040&page=15 ).

The only real convincing I need to completely want them is to know that they 100% work well with a stock 86, meaning fit and no rub. Fit seems like a no brainer, lots of people have pictures of my desired size wheels (17x8-9 +35) and rub seems to happen just when the tires are too big, or people have all kinds of different setups. My experience with tire size is rather limited to my time on this forum, but from what I have been able to gather in information, 235/40/17 seems to work??

It will fit, it will be a slightly streched tire but it will look and feel good. With 17x9 +35 on stock suspension, if you have stock alignement (meaning no camber up front and very little in the rear) you will have a bit of poke. I have seen pictures of others, if you do plan on tracking the car, an alignement to get at least -2 degres of camber, it will be fine and very close to flush. (you would need camber bolts and possible camber plates to get past -2 up front, you need LCA for the rears but you could probably just leave the rears as if for now).

It's like impossible to find a picture to see how much poke it actually is.

Found a picture here that shows the poke, but it's not a dead straight picture and doesn't display the poke accurately, the tires are also 255

I feel you. I was thinking just coating the machined part in the spokes and leaving the rest the matte black.

Black on Black on Black on Black. I was thinking to add some purple because of a special little dragon though..

Here is my $0.02

IMO, Konigs are good. I have had three sets with no problems. I'm currently running Oversteers.

I would consider Rota Titans. They come in 17x8 and 17x9.

Or, What about a set of lightly used Wedssports?

Kosi K4R's?

Budget? Tires you are thinking?

I would suggest TSW Interlagos in 17x8 +35 in black but they're expensive last I checked.

I can give a +1 for 720form GTF1. Friend has them on his RX8 and I see several on autocross cars at regional events.

On stock alignment, 17x9 +35 will poke about half an inch but 17x8 +35 will be flush. That said, if you plan to get coilovers down the road, 17x9 +35 will look great once lowered and cambered appropriately and are the optimal size for NA powered track and autocross use which means you don't need to change them down the road when you start to grow.

Eventual desired tire size, 235/40/17. With 17x8 I would be able to stick the stocks on the new wheels and burn those first, this is based on small research I have done.

Budget: $750 - $899 CAD, willing to jump if the wheel is right.

Weds would be cool, have not looked into the used market, although I have attempted to look through Kijiji once before, the results were very disappointing. I'm unsure of any other outlets for the used market that could be relatively trusted and lucrative in options.

Rota Titans I think are similar in price to these, so would rather just have one of the two I mentioned.

Never heard of Kosi, looking into it now.

Edit: Kosei k4r... Not a fan of what I am seeing here, style is good, price is decent, weight is crazy good, but... BUT BUT BUT but.. The offset of +50 is horrendous for my desires and x7 width is makes this wheel too similar to stock. This is the only example I have found with a price too it CAD. I can only image the x8 width and proper +36 offset may jump into undesirable price territory.

17x8 +36 exist:

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11033

I prefer more of a flush to slight poke, maybe a cm of poke look.

The only suspension work I plan to do is dropping it an inch, of course this can change, but as of right now this is my goal. 720Form GTF1 is incredibly competitive as an option, which is why it is my prime option right now, I have literally only read, seen, or have been told that they are good.

TSW Interlagos, very nice wheel, price is not competitive though.

I would consider the Konig Ultraform or Hypergram. Konig has been a reputable brand in the racing scene for quite a while. The two mentioned above are from their newish flow-formed series of wheels. Cheap af for a 17x8 wheel at ~16lb.

When I upgrade to 17x9 for my dedicated track/autocross wheels, I'm considering getting a set of these in red opal.
