I had a small fuel issue the first time I filled up. It wouldn't seem to take any more fuel and I checked the car and it was only 3/4 full. Only happened once though.

Thanks heaps.
anyway the manual tranny has a dipstick like the subaru wrx's underneath all the cabling in an awkward position on the side, hard to find but it was found.. eventually.. its where the transmission filler plug is on the side.. not sure if the gts has it like the gt does but worth checking.. if not you'll have to either jack up your car and remove the underneath cover or try bend in from the top and remove the filler plug on the side of the transmission and insert a dipstick to check if there is any

hope this helps

WTF get that shit changed/dealt with now.

Atleast a new gearbox.

Might feel fine now with oil but in 150000kms and shit dont work do you expect them too honor the warranty, no way in world will they help you.

this look like a common issue. i'd make damn sure to have this checked before driving away from the dealership.

yeah thats so true. i only had 8km when i realised how rough the gearbox was so went back but those first few km's would have a generally large impact later on anyway thanks

at lesat people are aware of this common issue of no transmission oil.. probably a marketing gimmick to regain lost profits on the low price..

Wow that's a massive fail in Toyota/Subu's QA procedures.

1. Filling up petrol - have done three tanks in this car now, every single time I fill up im having the petrol spit out once it hits around 3/4 tank!? Literally 100ml of it all over my hand and the car. Really wierd. Is anybody else getting this?

2. Gears / Gearbox - Finding that 1st > 2nd and 3rd > 2nd is hard to engage. Has been like this since I left the dealership, however seems to be worse when its cold (especially with the way the weather's been here in Sydney)
My husband noticed the fuel thing on our drive back from the dealer (we filled it up twice)... after putting in 35LTRs the first time when we had 1/8 tank, and again when he put in 40 LTRs when we had a 1/4 tank.

Havent noticed anything about the gearbox - but the brakes are soooooo stif.

Get them to sign something saying that the car was missing gearbox oil for the first xxxxkm's and that if/when you should experience gearbox failure it will be replaced free of charge inside/outside of warranty. It's the least they should do to compensate you. That would have done a lot of damage that won't be evident right now.

NO transmission oil????? WHAT!?

I simply cannot fathom that. This has happened to more than one person? I would IMMEDIATELY demand a new gearbag.

The engine should already be broken in right? I remember hearing some where, someone said the car has been already broken in since they bench test the car before shipping it out. Seem legit?

I've read this too which is why some people argue that there is 'no need to break-in as it's already done in the factory'. But the manual specifically says keep it under 4000 rpm for the first 1000 miles so I'd say just go with that.

Yeah 1600kms, i would just do as the manual says... wonder how many kms are done on a bench test... (i would guess couple 100m).
