Good man. But with all those toll booths in Jersey the 30 is better protection for ya lol. Gets costly too.

It actually starts or do you have a oil warmer it gets cold up there. If your Molsen xxx beer freezes you need to turn the oil warmer on.

I take the car to the track during the summer so it covers all bases.

Say you are planning on doing several autoX and a few trackdays in the summer.. What should I use instead of 0W-20?

I use PUROL 10-40 year round. I live in southern CA so it's warm all year. After 50,000 miles, supercharged on e-85 with several dozen track days I pulled the engine for a blown head gasket. Of course I checked the bearings and they looked good as new. I'm very pleased with PUROL.

I run 0w30 year round here in Ca for about 4 years and 50k. Next oil change I'm going to get a used oil analysis to check and post it on the forum. I would love to see the used oil analysis for other oil weights in different climates/conditions.

If you're going to switch to a heavier warm weight, why keep the 0 cold weight?

I'm waiting to see the results of the use oil analysis. I switched from 0w20 to 0w30 because I wanted more protection in hotter months. Also I was following Mobil 1s recommended oils for the FA20. I think it may have less wear on start up when it's like 2degrees Celsius out which it gets to sometimes in the foothills where I live. Depending on the use oil analysis I may switch to 5w30. I'll post the results on the next oil change.

Here is a related thread about a 0w30 used oil analysis: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=122925
