Ahh okay now I’m on the same page as everyone. My issue is just that they are advertising a drop that cannot be achieved without completely removing preload, which just doesn’t seem right.

bingo

it's really not that big a deal to not have a spring 'preloaded' the biggest problem you could have is that if the suspension ever becomes unloaded for long enough while driving (airborne) the springs aren't captured and could misalign upon landing. But if you're airborne that long you've likely got other issues after landing than just your springs

Wonder if a set of the swift helper springs would fit in there to allow you to back off the preload and maintain tension on the main at full droop.
