IMO the oem ones look fantastic on DGM or any of the darker paints. Lack of logos is my preference anyways.

Had mine on for 15,000km+ and no complaints. Hard to say if they have saved me from any chips. I'll be going wider wheels + tires this summer though so maybe they will at that point.

Next time I go to wax I will pop one of them off to see if there has been any rubbing on the clearcoat.

I agree the darker color cars look great with OEM mudflaps.

I painted my OEM mudflaps silver, and they looked awesome. Couldn't find a pic of when I had them. I used adhesion promoter, primer, D6S Scion Paint and clear.

Here is a pic of OEM flaps painted. I think it looks great!

Holy cow that looks great. Almost makes me want to paint my OEM mudflaps to match the halo paint.

Also, the RallyArmor flaps mount using an additional bracket, and I don't like that mounting method. The GORILLA rock guards bolt right into the fender well (into existing holes) and it's a cleaner, simpler, sturdier install, IMHO.

A lot of people think they're just a style thing. I did NOT install them for style reasons. I installed them because I wanted to protect the paint on the side of the car from rocks. When you upgrade to a 9" wheel, lower the car slightly, and put a few degrees of camber on it, the bottom of the wheel is much further out. Then put sticky Michelin Pilot Super Sports on the car, and rocks start to be flung into the body work. I also autocross the car with RE71Rs, and those basically sandblast the car.

These are the ones I purchased. I wound up trimming about 3/4" off the bottom of them because I was barely scraping them on the ground during the more violent transitions in autocross. Rokblokz sells a "shortie" version but they are TOO short for my tastes and looked weird since they didn't even clear the bottom of the rocker panel.

Are your mud flaps protecting your sti skirts and spats pretty good?

Sorry. I was only JUST notified of this quote for some weird reason.

I dunno if they would really do much for the spats. The spats face away from the wheels slightly, so they won't get any damage either way. The side skirts are still in great shape, but I also have no idea how much more damaged they would otherwise be, to be honest. Dunno how tough that plastic is against rock chips and whatnot.

Forgot I had subbed to this thread, just got a notification. I have the same Gorilla flaps and have been noticing I scrape the back flaps a bit on some driveways even though the front lip doesn't scrape and I'm not even lowered. Might have to trim a bit off them - what's a good way of getting a nice clean cut on these?

If you score them with a razor blade, they will snap pretty cleanly. See my blog post here, where I trimmed mine for some extra tips:
