Thanks for all the suggestions guys, but I ended up going with the TurboXS License Plate Relocation Kit, just placed the order.

It's almost identical to the Grimmspeed yet much cheaper.

Ok. It's aluminum though. Don't go wild with the roid rage arm strength.
Mean it in this case. Blue LocTite and moderation.

I had a front plate smack dab in the middle of the grill on my Miata for 8 years and my FR-S for 5 years. I drove in temps up 105 degrees F in both and never had a overheating problem.

Track use in hot weather might be a different story .....

It's only holding a lightweight piece of aluminum. Don't overthink past your classification

Guys, in case of an emergency like I need to have my car towed, am I shit out of luck since I have the license plate relocator screwed into the tow hook?

What would someone in an emergency case like this do?

Remove plate relocate, insert tow hook.

I have the Grimmspeed relocate and I keep tools in the glove box to remove it just in case. Just a couple T-handle hex wrenches and a 17mm combo wrench in a zippered leather bag so they don't beat up the glove box. Also make sure you've got some anti-seize on the bolt that threads into the tow hook to make removal less painful.

I agree that for cars with parts that add heat or for track use; decreased airflow is not what you are looking for.

I've never had any kind of heat issue on the street though.

Plus, I've added some air flow... Hand cut these myself.
