It doesn't do anything at all :/ I know the motor is fine because the mechanic showed me it working, so I don't know what's going on right now.

Not sure if the mechanic didn't reconnect it properly, or if something is actually fucked.

Just throwing this out there so don't get mad.
You have checked the child passenger side lock out button on the driver's side right?

Haha I won't get mad, it's a valid thing to check for

It wasn't activated. I clicked it on and off just to make sure and tried it again, still nothing.

You would be surprised how many people would get mad!
If it just didn't work and there was no flashing indicator I may buy the damaged switch thing. Since it is flashing it is saying it is in overload and the reset should work. If it was my car and nothing has worked yet I would try unhooking the battery for a few minutes and see if that resets it. May have no impact but it is easy to do and frequently resolves computer issues (I should be in IT) so is worth a shot.

I'll give it a shot later tonight when I get home from work and keep everyone posted with results!

Just remember that your engine/throttle will feel wonky while the ECU re-learns all the self-adjusting parameters. Don't be alarmed by that.

I had this problem recently. Read the instructions in manual. Couldn't get it to work. It seems simple. I was trying it with the engine not running and the key in the ON position. Tried it with the engine running and it worked first try.
