What kind Apples to oranges are you talking about to ruin a thread?
Why is ITB on NA cars a strange things? tell that to BMWs? IT's just good for some ppl's build, FI or not. Not everything is about right or wrong, this is not stupid politics, just drop it. |

Why all the focus on ITB's when a plenum is being added? That and the new runners will have a bigger effect on power.

BMW obviously doesn't know what they're doing by putting ITBs on hugely successful STREET motors like the S14, M88/S38, S50, S54, S62, S85, etc. Or Ford with any of their Cosworth offerings. Or is the argument now simply going to be that a forced induction motor was referenced earlier? I seriously doubt the RB26 was referenced as a comparable motor to the FA20; only that ITBs were quite successfully used on it as a road-going motor. If that's the case, then there's really no point comparing ANY motor with another unless they are 100% identical, which is really pretty pointless.

Make an apples to apples comparison or don’t bother. Post some gains made on an NA Honda from going ITB. That could actually be useful info. |

I bet BMW and Ford have plenty. Are you suggesting that removing the ITBs and going with a single TB would have no effect on power output or delivery? Or even more absurd, would IMPROVE either? I'm sure that data is readily available (in fact, you can't Google 'Honda' and 'ITB' and not find tons of info), but then we'd be comparing apples to oranges, according to you...

Only in that the RB26 operates in the same rpm range as ours, meaning ITBs are not some sort of component reserved for super high rpm motors. Likewise, the M88/S38 motors only make peak power in the mid 6000rpm range, but still use ITBs.
