  2. (and more likely) He pulled over on the side of the road, the car is lowered enough so it touched the leaves on the exhaust and the car caught fire. This is not an uncommon scenario.

More than likely though, this isn't the straight scoop here.
I don't buy the leaves thing at all. Yes there are leaves on the ground and you are going to get some caught in the grill but looking at the pictures there are not enough that they would be likely to get caught up in the brakes is sufficient quantity to cause a fire large enough to spread while moving at speed.

I would hope he didn't just pull over on the side of the road where the car burned. He would have had somebody embedded in the back of him in a hurry if he just parked there. Again there are leaves but not a massive amount and unless he left the car unattended for a long time they would not have created enough flames that it could not be put out with a fire extinguisher.

In fact the fact that the fire extinguisher couldn't put out the initial fire tells me it was more probable that it was an engine or fuel fire. Leaves didn't light the engine on fire. There is much more to the story that we will never know.

Leaves don't burn on brakes. Period. It is not possible for a car to burn down because of leaves on brakes. That is just ridiculous.

This moron is either a) looking for some reason other than his own ineptitude or 2) trying to come up with some BS story to tell insurance hoping they pay for his car.

If leaves can burn a car down, then there should be thousands of cars lighting up every weekend in New England from October-December. It's never happened

I would not rule out leaves but there are many more likely scenarios.

I alluded to that in the post above this one. I doubt the true story will ever be told..... or maybe this is the true story and we are all too cynical.

Dry lawn clippings and grass and stuff has burned down many cars. I could see a ton of dried leaves catching fire. Not 100% sure about the story here but.... its plausible in ways.

Dunno, after that there was a big falling out and he quit this forum. For awhile it was a joke, or a meme to be more accurate, to say that any twin that burned was Visconti tuned. But most of those were from the high pressure fuel pump replacement failures. Which I'm not sure whether that was what happened to the original car that started it or not.

Yeah I'm not buying the leaves story. Unless it's a Ferrari which it isn't, it's always a leaking fuel line.
