Owner blamed it on leaves???
It's that time of year here in east TN. Constantly cleaning leaves out of my grill.

Much more likely:

"An improperly deleted evap canister could be the culprit. The owner will likely never admit fault as he owns a GT-R shop and can't be seen as responsible for burning his own $175k car to a crisp. The car was owned the owner at Forged Performance - Sharif Abdelbaset,"

Maybe a Visconti partner?

$175k for them internet bragging rights and the 18' Camaro ZL1/1LE takes a big poop on it for $100k less.

Yea, I don't disagree, but it was definitely a good day to blow up some leaves under your car. Check some of the photos here (not sure how long these stay online, probably about a week)

The car that burned (based on time stamps) may be the one at the end of the day in this segment.

It will probably be worse this weekend as last weekend appeared to be the peak as I was going through on Friday (2 days before this incident).

There's quite a few, particularly early in the day, that look like this (note the grill)....

Ive had leaves collect on top of my diffuser on the tail, along with filling the grill.

I do not understand. if the front gets blocked, the temperature will go up and the gauge, unless changed on that car, the light will come on long before the temperature reaches flash point.
I thought that car also has a belly pan, so it would be difficult to get leaves to blow up under the car into the engine bay.

so the brakes got cherry red and started the fire, he must have been flying on that road to get them that hot.

There were witnesses that stated leaves built up around the rear brakes which caught fire. Idk, interesting that it happened like that. I am sure the dragons tail is beautiful in fall.

The more likely scenario, if it was indeed "death by leaf" is one of two things.
  1. The leaves gathered between the bottom of the car and some part of the exhaust, catching fire, then catching other things under the car on fire.
  2. (and more likely) He pulled over on the side of the road, the car is lowered enough so it touched the leaves on the exhaust and the car caught fire. This is not an uncommon scenario.

More than likely though, this isn't the straight scoop here.

Didn't see that part, and posted ^above^ the same time you were posting, but same result.

It was absolutely beautiful this past weekend, drove through on Friday.

It wasn't in the posted article. I read about it when it first happened. Multiple people were trying to help so there were lots of people, but who knows if they really knew what happened.

Read closely and the "witnesses" statements are questionable. None of the leaves were mentioned until hours after the fire.

I would not rule out leaves but there are many more likely scenarios.
