I live in MD too. I rarely see another twin and when I do, it's usually dirty and stock. 🤷*♀️

Toyota and Subaru needs to start making less twin, but I guess it's too late.
This is my annoyance with the car...there's too many!!

....Or worst, seeing a heavily modded stanced frs or brz
Why the fuck do people do this to a sports car? Doesn't it take away from the whole purpose of this car, the agile and nimble yet great performance?
....Am I missing something with the goal of these kinds of mods?!

How do you guys feel about seeing countless other twins?
How many a day do you spot?
Down here in deep dark Africa it’s still a reasonably rare car (though I’ve seen 2 pop up in my local area lately).
I kinda like it, because although there are 1/2 more we’re still way less than the VW GTi brigade (etc).

Plus mine is currently lightly modded - soon to be a little more heavily modded so that gives me a uniqueness factor. I don’t do the dropped/stanced thing though. Most of my mods are hidden - aka engine mods.

As far as I know toybaru is pretty disappointed with sales here.

Mileage. I know the EPA estimates are higher 20's, I think they just downgraded it for 2017 to 26...but I know my LS6 car got low 30's on the highway. Almost any LS six speed car with factory gearing cruises just above idle RPM.

The height difference isn't that much, and winter tires can be equipped. Plus the stability control options on the corvettes are pretty diverse. What are the other reasons? We all talk about how balanced the twins are, corvettes have balance too.

I still want a Cayman.
I always make fun of Corvette guys that brag about gas mileage. Oh wow, you get 30 when you are on the highway, that is so great. Oh wait, I get 32 and I literally never drive on a highway. The last time I actually drove on a highways I hit 39 and 37 on back to back tanks.. In my Yaris I can get near 50. And I can actually enjoy my cars on the road, you open up a Corvette any on public roads and you are in jail and car seizure land.

But seriously Corvette's are great, just not for gas mileage.

For what they are that is great though.

So I recently took a trip to California. I have to say Cali is the home of the twins. I counted 26 while I was there for 5 days, on average 5 per day. I don't even see that amount in a year where I live in NY.

I admit I hate it, because it triggers my social anxiety.

I see them around a good bit, parked or driving. I'm usually on foot when I do though, so that helps.

Yeah.... I think you're missing the point. To have 400+ whp on tap and get 30 mpg anywhere, that is incredible.

I enjoy all my cars on the road, and personally find it much more fun to drive a fast car slow than a slow car fast. It is just a different kind of fun knowing you have more on demand than knowing you're maxing something out.

Quite the opposite for me, I love seeing the odd twin here and there. I think I see about 1-4 per month. There's so few on the street here in FL compared to others (or at least along my commute). I always give them a thumbs up if I can see the driver, and they usually return one back if they can see me. I like it.

What the...!? According to my dash, I avg 30 mpg with 80% highway commute of 3 hours per weekday in Florida/low elevation, 70-80mph, 3-4K rpm, 80-89deg~, 93 oct, with just drop in filter and exhaust for mods. WTF am I doing wrong!

I actually don't mind the only thing I don't like is when the driver is a raging jerk or swear he's the ish (usually New Jersey BRZ owners).
