maybe you could get these in red

In all seriousness though, the problem with tacky stick-on bits is that they look like tacky stick-on bits. If it you think it looks good, more power to you, but don't get upset if literally everyone else thinks its awful. If you open yourself up for feedback, it won't always be good.

If you like it, ignore everyone and do you're thing, but if you're here for the feedback like you so claim, take it, and try to understand.

What he said.

I know...harsh landing for your fist post,¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ... but seriously...hang around, the place is useful to help learn about what you just bought. Some of the posters on this board know these cars inside out. If you do have any issues or foresee any mods of your own, this place is worth consulting with.

Had mine for five years so far and not had the urge to change a single thing. Same color as yours only with ten more layers of dirt and grime. I bought it exclusively for the way the chassis handles day-to-day driving.

My constructive feedback: If you must have red accents, a can of red brake caliper paint applied to the factory calipers will improve your street-cred.

If you check out the front plate in the picture here (side note, it's actually kinda hard to find a pic of a proper plate mounting via Google), you'll see that it's mounted up higher, and the bracket actually mounts it so that the upper half of the plate is basically in line with your actual bumper cover. As your plate currently sits it's blocking more than half of your grille's surface area, meaning your radiator, and possibly even the intake, aren't getting the air they need. There is an OEM plate bracket for the FR-S that is shaped to fit the nose of the car so that the plate sits up high and keeps the grille clear. The difference is that the same two holes that are bolting in the top of your plate are used to bolt in the bottom of the plate bracket so the whole thing sits up higher out of the way of the grille. In the picture I went all Crayola on, you can even see on the right side of the bracket how it has a shape contoured to match the shape of the nose.

Or, you could also get one of the relocation kits like the one from Perrin that mounts your plate to the front tow hook position on the right side of the nose, also keeping your grille clear. Either way your car will thank you for not plugging its nose.
Either way looks like shit though. Delete the front plate entirely.

Did you put the CAI on yourself? I ask because I'm curious on your take of the before vs. after. I've heard from many people on here that it actually negatively impacted the performance of their car if they ran the CAI without a tune. Have you experienced this? If it was on the car before you picked it up, you may want to try the stock intake with a drop in filter and see how that treats you. You may end up liking it more?

ALSO: Congrats on the car Glad you love it

While a very attractive idea, the 5-0 will extract tribute for that in these parts.

Regardless of the cosmetic stuff, yes it's a great car. I've owned everything from 914 to 911 Turbos and I'm having such a great experience with the 86 for many reasons. Enjoy your car and remember it's yours and if you like the red stuff then keep it. You're the one that will look back at it in a parking lot and want to like what you see...

Well I for one, like red and black accents. Too much symmetry though. Betcha it would look real nice if ya painted half the wing and one a the eyelids all white like.

They do here too, but it isn't too bad a fine. I always love it when they say something like "sir, are you aware you have no front plate?" If you're not an ass normally they let you off with a warning. If you know you're getting a ticket anyways....

I wonder if having it on the front seat with a pack of license plate bolts would get you a pass.

"Right here, officer. Had to go get some hardware."
