Wow, what a car!

Love it. 2013 FRS.
Cold intake, titanium exhaust, Alpine stereo and amp. Only 25,000 ins when I got it. Added some spruce ups and new wheels with all weather skins.

I know that it's all personal preference but please sell the caliper covers and eyelids and put the money toward a real big brake kit

Not really my taste but it's your car so if you're happy with it then it's good. I like the rims though.

Hello Kevinthetriplet , congratulations on your purchase and welcome to our fine forum.

Yep, CAI, titanium exhaust, stereo and amp, new tires .......that's all good .....

Now, about the RED bits and pieces .......

The first thing I would suggest that you do to your car is to paint over or take off that red stuff. IMHO, it doesn't do anything for the looks of the car ....... and WHY draw the eyes to the brakes, headlights and antennae cover ......

The second thing I would do to the car ....... is wash it ......

However, I do remember back-in-the-day (in the 50s) I painted a red star on the stock baby moon hubcaps, on my 48 Chevrolet, to try to make them look like Oldsmobile "flippers" ...... I got so much razzing from my friends the first day I drove it to school, that I rubbed all the red paint off during the lunch break ......

Hey Kevinthetriplet. Glad you are enjoying your car. I got mine with 25k on it as well and I love it!

It may be a matter of personal taste but the red accents look out of place to me.

Thanks for the personal observations. I wanted a little colour in a black car...red is a good contrast and matches the interior contrasts. The FRS is over-braked all read. I was hoping for some constructive feedback from your fine forum...

Honest suggestion:

If you are going to modify, try envisioning an end goal so that you have a bit of direction. No offense, and its your car so you can do whatever the hell you want, but it looks like a bunch of random flashy red bits are attached to it.

That being said, do whatever the hell you do. If you take internet advice you are going to build the car that everyone else wants. Also, I don't think brake caliper covers are ever excusable.... you might be mocked a bit for those if you do shows/show pictures on the internet/etc.

In the end do what you want, but if you ask for advise be prepared to meet opposing views and those who disagree, especially when it is something subjective like taste.

Red accents look out of place and tacky, painting them black would give a much more cohesive look to the car.

Obviously just my opinion, do what you want it's your car!

Congratulations and welcome to the forum! Keep the color - I drove Cadillac limousines back in the 70's and 80's and wore a black uniform - 7 days a week for 7 years - haven't driven a black car since then - but if I ever do again, I'm going your route.

im not sure that "over braked" is really a thing. never once have I heard someone complain that their brakes were just too powerful and fade resistant

You are getting constructive feedback, you're just taking it personal.

I think you need a bit less red, or to maybe move the red to other places if you're dead set on having red accents. Red accents on a black car need to be minimal, but make a huge impact on the appearance of the car.

Also the paint of the red needs to match the black more than the black needs to match the red, the red here looks very flat compared to the black(glittery black) on the actual car, and you need to clean the car.

I'm not an automotive designer, nor are 99% of people here on this forum, but it is clear to majority of the people that have posted here that the car is harsh on the eyes due to the lack of synergy the red accents have for the rest of the black body.

If you like it, ignore everyone and do you're thing, but if you're here for the feedback like you so claim, take it, and try to understand.
