Anyone with half a brain can see the track videos I posted and decide for themselves. For the rest of you, best of luck buying modded trash heaps that have "never been tracked". LMFAO.
Nobody anyplace said it was abuse. They said it causes faster wear and increases the risk of mechanical failure. It does. That is not disputable.

Do you think that people drive at redline or something?
You typically stay in 3rd or 4th gear, and shift accordingly.
Actually, they do drive at redline... and I drive at way higher RPMs than normal.

You can't see it in this video but at ACS you spend upwards of 15-25 seconds at redline in 5th gear in a stock car. 6th and you basically hit an aerodynamic brick wall.

I do not see anyone in your videos "driving at redline"
You don't drive at redline. You shift gears. Then you're not at redline.

Only time it can happen is on the straight, and you've pegged top gear.
Most people just get into 5th and a few seconds later, the straight is over.
How long does that last? A few seconds, if that ever even happens.
Unless your tracks have 2 mile long straights.

So if I shift at redline, I still am driving at redline right?

Like 0.1 seconds at redline each shift? That's still driving at redline, right?

You didn't specify if it was "driving at redline a portion of the time" or "driving at redline all the time". Since you're so good at being technical, please enlighten us on your newfound terminology of describing "driving at redline"

If yes to either or both of the above, an extended warranty may be good for you.

If, no to both, I would suggest you rethink that option.
If yes to either, NO it would not be a good option, because most of the time, those would not cover modifications or failures due to tracking, racing, whatever you want to call it.

It would be a better waste of money to get the coverage on a non-modified, non-tracked vehicle.

However I would not recommend it either way, since it's basically unnecessary insurance.

Save money in a high-interest online savings account that is easily accessible for future unforeseen repairs.

What are the symptoms of this, do you just start seeing smoke coming from your engine/exhaust manifold area?

How much oil leaked, did this cause a loss in oil pressure?

So did they just have to partially lift the engine to fix this?

Thanks in advanced

I saw wisps of smoke coming from the oil that dripped on the exhaust.

So little leaked out that it still showed as being fine when I checked it. In fact I had checked it just a few days before I noticed the smoke and didn't see that there was a problem. Then again I wasn't looking for one just pulled the dipstick and checked.

No lift at all. Apparently they just remove some stuff from the front, pull the cover and reseal. It's not a gasket just silicone so all they have to do is have access to clean the old and reapply.
