Sorry, I know what double clutching is.

I also know what it is not, namely it is not needed for a modern day transmission when you downshift.

Know what's funny? Professional racers don't double clutch, even in a 24 hour race.

This is exactly what I do when I downshift since I heard it saves the synchros and reduce clutch wear....

Now I see people commenting on here saying it's not necessary...

Last time I tried rev matching, my shifter didn't go in correctly and started shaking until I moved it back into neutral

clutch, blip throttle, move lever... yeah that didn't go quite as well as I thought

I also like double clutching on the freeway when trying to pass someone, since I find it easier to just double clutch, rev up the RPM to the appropriate gear you want then just move the lever.
