If only there was a system that could bring raw induction noise into the cabin so a driver could hear the engine speed without sounding like an absolute douchenozzle to everyone else on the road. That would be awesome! People totally wouldn't rip such a system out and then make their cars obnoxiously loud in order to "hear the engine for rev matching"

I would generally agree with that. There's a fine line of needing to hear the exhaust for rev matching and loud enough to wake the dead lol
