Going off on a tangent from OP, but still.
Like I said, I haven't seen any evidence that the OE calipers are inferior for track duty with appropriate pads and fluid assuming reasonable power levels.

There was an EJ20 N/A variant that it was developed in parallel with the FA20 engine. It was used even in a prototype car. Unfortunately, it didn't make it to production. At that time they were saying that it could achieve either the 100hp/lt target or the emissions target, but not both. I am afraid that STI is not allowed to touch the FA20 engine with the Toyota's property D4-S system. If history was different and they could use the EJ20 N/A variant , then it would be possible to see something more.

This is not true. There were tS variants in Japan with more power. An example was the Forester tS : https://www.sti.jp/product/previousm...oresterts.html

It had more power than the XT model (259hp vs. 227hp) and it had even a new A/T transmission with 5 gears. All the A/T Forester transmissions at that time had 4 gears.

The draw stiffeners are the same. TRD Motion Control Beam seems quite complicated inside with springs and friction plates. STI Flexible V-Bars use a simple pillowball joint in the middle.

This makes the most sense to me thus far.

When we say "STI" here we mean complete cars from STI Japan.

Yellow Pricing, STI

I paid $29,100 for my Yellow, but I was the first pre-order on the US and have owned 15 Subies. It got a Crawford Turbo at nine miles. So much for waiting for Subaru to put some Ponies in it. After 4.5 years of my 2013 Limited, I was tired of little Civics blowing me off.

The Blue STI BRZ had all the STI panels and goodies on it with about a $1500 savings, if the dealer did not mark it up. My dealer had one for a year. Most of the Yellow's are gone, except where the dealers have crazy makeups. Better off dealing for a Limited with the Performance package.

Little Civics blowing you off? You were definitely doing something wrong. Personally, I can give a hard time to much stronger cars (x2 or x3 the cost).

Overall, I wouldn't like to modify a tS car heavily. It would destroy its spirit. Some light changes would be ok, like a canned tune or good coilovers if the height is stock.

Out of pure curiosity, around how much did you spend on the Crawford turbo? Great setup btw!

For the few of us (so far) that are interested in purchasing one, what color are you leaning towards?

I'm leaning towards white, maybe black, but definitely not blue. I personally feel that blue is overdone and not unique enough, and that blue clashes with the red interior accents.

They may only do a couple of colours like with some other specials. My guess would be blue (pretty much a sure thing), white and possibly black so at least they should cover your choices.

It will be available in blue, black and white according to the Subaru press release.

I'm going with white.
