I bought a 2017 BRZ Performance Package in May, so when this car came out, I was initially pissed. But the more I read, the less concerned I was. I already have 90% of what will make the tS good. I'm more interested in getting better wheels/tires, lowering it, maybe intake and exhaust.

Most people even on this forum don't understand what makes the tS good. They get so blinded by the exterior.

If you want a taste of STI handling and maybe 50% of what makes the tS good, just add the flexible v-bars and flexible draw stiffeners and slightly better tires to a stock facelifted BRZ.

This car is cheap and fun. Only reason it sells. You want more performance there is plenty of after market.

Need a turbo and AWD? Subaru might have a few choices for you.

Apparently I can't project sarcasm in text very well.

Issue is the tS car is focused only on the handling part. I installed most of their basic parts, but something was still missing. If someone wants to have a much better car, then he'll need to focus also to the engine and keep a balance. Not necessary to go FI.

I don't understand why STI doesn't produce an upgraded engine for the BRZ like they always do for their WRX STI variant. I wonder if it is because their motorsport applications are still on the EJ20.

Just wondering, but the TRD Motion Control Beam & TRD Draw Stiffeners are the same as the STI Flexible V-Bars & STI Draw Stiffeners?

because this is not an STI, it is a tS. Even in Japan a tS variant of a vehicle never includes more power.

The motion control beam i believe is a different design but the draw stiffeners are exactly the STi ones but rebranded (for more money haha)

One could definitely make a case for the Performance Package being a worthwhile upgrade - and a BRZ will perform better on track as a result of it, especially thanks to the brakes (less fade and more even pad wear - assuming using race pads). Making the case for the tS model, however, yeah I'm in the same boat as you.

Still complete crap that you can't get the PP on the Premium model

Yes well... at least you can get the PP. We to the north can only get that stuff on the Inazuma (Series Yellow) for 2017. Perhaps only on the tS come 2018.

If I have to upgrade pads anyway to the compound I want I'm looking at BBK's that reduce cost, not convinced this Subaru specific kit is going to be better for track usage than the aftermarket that uses more common and thicker pads (less fade and even pad wear are going to be a function of the pads chosen, there's nothing wrong with the OE calipers in that regard), it just means my pad selection has narrowed compared to stock or aftermarket.

Compared to fixed calipers with multiple pistons, the floating caliper design has inferior force distribution. The directly impacts pad wear, usually in the form of accelerated pad wear.

Going off on a tangent from OP, but still.
