New parts do you want to see Manufactured

Hey everyone

I have been talking to friends of mine that helped manufacture high end parts that you couldn't get at the time for my FT86PROJECT9S build. And the topic came up about what is everyone is needing that they can't find or would need to have custom made. I really couldn't answer that because I only compete in one area of this platforms abilities and that's the world of drag.
For instance I had custom parachute mounting kits that have been designed for the FT86 not a off the shelf make it work kinda stuff. Also I had a drag cage with removable side bars made that passes NHRA rules that you can install your self. I know of some drifters that liked dual rear disc brake setups that are independent of each other, so those kits were made.
So since I have limited knowledge of what track guys want or need here is your chance to list the things you would like to see.
With this said remember the products you want would be designed to last cnc machined if needed high end parts. No knock offs or cheap parts brought in from some place else. SO lets have it what are you wishing, wanting, or looking for to elevate the FT86 to the next level...

Make me some rally armor lol! All the lowered guys might buy it (this is 50% a joke)

TBH if you could make some functional side fender vents that I could get paint matched I would be interested depending on the price?

This is exactly the input we are looking for!! If you have a crude design post it up if your not comfortable doing that pm me and I will send it on for you. BTW the rally armor you speak of gave me a idea to research about air flow under the car thanks!!!

I would buy rally armor if it was sold with a functional splitter and diffuser. it would protect the whole underside of the car from scrapes and flying rocks ect. it would also help a lot with aerodynamics provide there was a splitter and diffuser to complement it.

I have no crude drawings or nothing. I want something like this with a nice mesh on it. or here are a few more ideas. The buyer would have to cut the sheet metal on the inside of the vent to make it more functional but I like the idea having having a real vent there to drop the underhood pressures to allow more flow through the rad and to extract a little engine bay heat

oh @FRS Justin I would also love to see some real aluminum trim bits to replace that silver plastic, but I am not sure it would sell very well haha!

Or if you could come up with some good gauge mounting solutions there seems to be a weakish market there.

You could always venture into engine dress up? battery tie downs, pulley covers ect.

I don't think anyone makes trunk braces for guys with big downforce wings, but again super small market.

I have a really strong desire to put on a badge that would be the general toyota oval shape with the 86 design in it! Like this but I can't find anybody to buy this from: http://lodenemblems.com/products/86-frontrear-badges

side vent kits would be pretty cool .. perhaps one that has the aero guide that aims the air around the side mirrors as well - or a new side fender that relocates the side vents to a more effective position?

double dim audio piece? are those finally available? I havent watched the market in a while, heh

actual aluminum trims instead of our plastic stuff everywhere - i liked that idea

aftermarket ignition coils that arent a grand a pop - for all those people that keep getting the ignition coil CEL (the only ones in the market that I found are the plasma ones ... too much $)

Personally I want to find a new rear bumper that cuts out the black plastic part (essentially, can be like a wire mesh) to prevent, what I assume to be, a parachute effect - again I have not been stalking all the car parts that have been coming out but I still have yet to see one during my casual viewing of the forums

Ill make another post if there are some other things I would like to personally see haha

Hmm... how about a removable cargo tray for those of us with gutted interiors.. Could be incorporated into the spare tire attachment bolt for securing.. with optional half or 1/4 setup for those with cages.

Better yet, something that can fit some wheels/tires, jerry can, jack, tools would be awesome!

I like there rear interior and all, but I have mine removed for the minuscule difference it makes during autocross/lapping/driving experience...

It just sucks when you have to haul your bins, jerry cans, tools, tires, duffel bags, etc and they slide all over the place.

A nice carpet piece that would cover gutted rear seats.

What i'd love to see:
*) RallyArmor mudflaps enhanced with snap fasterners (so that by backing off over cerb if they become partially undone i can simply clip those back instead of searching for replacement plastic shims that broke off from screws)
*) replacement rear bumper insert that will feature single exhaust (be it centered or on one side) that will look OEMish and can house stock rear center lights cluster unlike full bumper replacement of some body kit or so-so looking exhaust delete plastic pieces as of now.
*) Q300 level quiet single exit catback.
*) good coilovers of reasonable middle budget (KWv3/T2/Ohlins R&T pricing&quality level) made for no lowering/drop (potentially even slight lift) for those with worse roads and/or wanting a bit more rallyish driving.
