You don't get this car. You are not like us. My current sports car is not slower in a straight line than V6 family sedans, nor even than lightly modded previous-gen Mustang GTs. So why am I interested in this car?

2) Then why would Toyota want to produce a car that will compete with a breed that is dying off? |

25k also cheaper than 370z, can it be entry sport car? 170 hp also more powerful than base Impressa 150 hp. Why can't this car to be a light weight, driver focused RWD entry sports car? |

150hp & 170hp? Where did you get that hp? It's gonna be using current FB engine, so it's gonna have more than that. Even they didn't use FB engine, Subaru did make NA 2L that's pressing 190hp (EJ204). Please don't put BS numbers. edit: Also it's not Impressa. It's Impreza! Impressa is this

I don't known much about Subaru, just google it.
190 hp. Very powerful. So engine of ft-86 will have at lease 190 hp right? |

^ Well that's what we're all guessing....
Examples: Honda got over 220hp from 2.0L in the S2000 (Early - Mid 2000's?) Mistubishi got 197hp from the FTO 2.0L V6 (in the mid 1990's) And there are probably a heap of other examples we could use, but I can't think of any others (without putting in effort XD) at the moment. I REALLY don't think 200hp is too much to ask from this, I don't even think 215hp is too much to ask - remember, this engine is expected to have both Port and Direct Injection (IIRC it's D4-S?), which should raise the torque output and therefore raise the power output...

I see, even Honda has 240Hp engine but I don't know why this car was so expensive, 34K for small car that has just 240hp engine. Wish ft-86 cheaper than this, may be just 23k for 220hp and cannot open roof.

then again if your idea of fun is 0-100 (kph) is 10 seconds, were on the wrong page. also in regards to a prius, i am fairly sure that topgear did a prius at top speed around their track, followed by a M3 that matched the prius speed.. and the M3 was more fuel efficient.. so prius is only good while you grandma it.. after that it becomes a SUV (slow yet fuel guzzler)

I'm sure many people will argue that there are FF hot-hatches are fun to drive and can hit 60mph in around 6-7sec or less. They get pretty good fuel economy too and not just by sporty car standards. When technology advances, which it always does, green-eco cars will become faster, lighter, and more enjoyable to drive. Also, those that are already fun to drive will become greener without sacrifice. |

miata = fun to drive, pretty good on gas, and RWD
Remember the saying..."It's more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow" With that said,"fun to drive" is subjective. For me "fun to drive" = driving a car at it's limit on turns and curvy roads(and no I'm not talking about drifting.) |
