Thank you guys for your help so far.

I ordered the ecsta 91 but they shipped the 31 but that's irrelevant. Hopefully it will be better with the 91.

I just changed the rear tires. Fronts are Michelin pilot super sports. So we're the rears before they went bald and then ran over a nail ( hence the doughnut )

I'm a bit worried now because Im a dumb dumb and didn't know about the no doughnuts on rear rule. Totally makes sense tho, * face palm *I drove with a doughnut on the rear for about a week. Probably about 50 miles or so. Any chance I ruined my LSD and that's the cause?
Never, ever mix tire models front and rear. Even different versions of the same tire model is a bad idea. If you absolutely have to mix and match then always put the inferior tires on the front axle.

I put two new Michelin MXM HX tires on the back axle of a fwd car for this reason, after checking with Michelin. In the five years since the original MXM had been released Michelin had upgraded the grip.

That's because the Supersports is the best tire you can buy unless you want the Sport Cup.

S a r c a s m.

It's a British thing. Some Canadians think they can do sarcasm. Harris can, he's British.

But, they can't.

Great illustration of why you don't fit space savers to the drive axle unless you have no choice.

You will lose your money. Take back the bet before it's too late.

The op just has to swap tires front to rear and hey presto, no more mushy rear axle.

Hold on a second while I pretend you have a single clue of what you're talking about.

You truly believe that running two radically different tires can not harm the diff?
You should never run one on a drive wheel but that goes even stronger for cars with an LSD.

Uh, my post was in response to:

As a general rule of thumb, you really don't want to use a spare on any of your drive wheels, whether FWD or RWD.

Where chris harris wants to use a spare.

Oof, wish we could threadlock until the OP posts an update, would save a lot of threads from going to shit over the past month or so.

Torsen could care less. Totally different from clutch type LSD.

Take all the time you think you need. You still won't understand.

Confirmation bias.

Look it up.

My excerpt was directly from the FRS manual. Apparently at least the engineers that wrote it think it cares.
