Hello all, as i just got validated for the forum.
So i had changed the launch control using ROMRaider and i used the correct calibration id and the correct version XML file for my tune and what not. so i saved it uploaded to my OFT then went to flash my car. So it was going very normally however i did notice that at the bottom right of the screen during the green progress bar it did show voltage which was at 12.3 and it made it all the way through with the flash then it said key off in which i did then confirmed then it said key on so i did and then its said key on again.......... then i hit ok again and then it said there was an error writing to the ecu or something of that sort. I believe for whatever reason it is bricked ive tried many solutions on here that have helped others but cant seem to get my car to start or anything it wont let me try to reflash and wont show anything for realtime data display it says key on for everything and wont pass that if so itll just say error or there was a problem. it will show the info about the ecu such as the vin what file was last used the cal ID and all the other stuff. Please help kinda need my car for work lol. All in all is it bricked can it be recovered, i do work at toyota but im no master tech should i have a master tech use techstream to check it out if it is recoverable. if so then i will trailer the FRS over to toyota and have them check it out. |

OK, that does not sound good. Check battery volts good, check obd and oft cable connections. Try removing battery terminal and press Brake pedal, reconnect battery Then try to flash your ORIGINAL STOCK rom from OFT no go, remove battery for 30 minutes, try again with stock rom. Im suspecting your editing went bad. When you edited launch and FFS were the boxes bewfore editing GREEN colour and contained values 2000 for launch and 0 for FFS. If not either rom did not have patch or def was incorrect. not all roms have the lc/ffs patch. Editing a non patched rom can brick ecu or using incorrect def on patched rom can do same. see image at end of this post http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=79152 Have a read here, their is link to ECU replacement if its truly bricked, they are not that expensive and fairly easy to replace. Ebay often has them for less than $150 http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=99171 . |
