I read the dictionary once. Very disappointed, I skipped to the end and found the zebra did it.

Ya they really threw that twist in because from the very start they make it seem like it was the aardvark.

This is an awesome idea!

I sold my merc to some young, jumpy dude when I bought my GT86.
I told him I had just discovered that I had lost the second key, he said "no problem" and drove away.
I found that key a while back. And I have his name and address.
My initial thought was to mail the key to him, but now...the question is what do I put in his car, and where?

Loool never used one because I don't like it when people touch my car. Even when I'm getting an oil change, I'm watching them carefully do it because I don't feel safe. It's my baby. My girlfriend always tells others "his car is his first love"

Yep, I hear that. The last time I was offered valet parking (at the hospital - of course - that's the only time I go out), I passed and the young man said "oh, darn, I always wanted to drive one of those" ...... what kind of "drive" he had in mind.

Oh, I don't watch them change the oil in my car, however, I do mark the old filter just to make sure it was changed and check the dipstick before I drive off and look underneath to make sure it's not dripping oil.

Oh, I might suggest, that after you stop at the automotive place to get detailing supplies for your car, that you stop by a store and pick up some flowers and a box of chocolates for your girlfriend.......

We charge .5 ($65 CDN) for reprogramming. Not sure what other dealers might charge. Not sure about your techstream question. I could look into it for you.

DAAAAAAMN ........ allowe ........think about that ........ THEN the tech at the dealership would know your code and make another key and go up to the billing desk and find out your address. He most likely copied the code off your garage door opener also.

NOW, you have some unknown person with access to your house and a key that will start your car.........

The other way ....... at least you would know the valet did it ......

That's a smart idea, to mark the old filter. Usually I just look at it and see if it's the same exact one by seeing if it's dusty or not.

Lol I'm really close to my girlfriend (too much actually, we spend 90% of our free time together doing whatever and it's been 2 years) but when it comes time to work on my car, everything else becomes secondary haha

If it isn't a hassle, I'd love to know and maybe someone reading this thread could benefit from it too. If it's too much of a hassle, don't worry about it, I'll ask the tech when I go in.

That'd be cool :-)

My first idea was to hack up some old PCB to look like this

-I have his signature on the contract! I could write a letter with a scan of his scribble photoshopped in at the end.
"Dear Frank. I know this will be hard to believe, but I am you in 2034 and I have been given this one chance to warn you. You must paint your car pink within a month from today. I am not allowed to tell you anything other than your future depends on this. I kept the key to the car as a momento. I left it under your seat as proof of who I am. If you change the battery, it might still work! And don't worry, everything will be fine."
