LOL... its so funny to read peopls reactions to air. You guys do know that is an FT86 in Japan right? Not a scion... lol
Here is a link to a feature on AirRex's race car. http://www.airsociety.net/2011/12/mi...ng-air-airrex/ If really is funny how people who don't know anything are so quick to say its rice, when air suspension was born on the race track... |

Very nice jetta and wheels. I'm planning on ccw classics for my brz, may I ask the specs of both the wheels and tires you ran?

FRS = Coilover = Sprited driving
VIP = Air bags = Low and slow Air cups are cool b/c they function as a lifter system on top of your coilover to clear obstacles if you need them.. but they are not cheap.

I posted the first puke response, so I guess I'm hatin'...
Anyway, that the car is tracked doesn't make it more aesthetically pleasing or more functional. For a track car, anything that adds weight and adds cost but doesn't add performance is a negative. It is cool that this air system is trackable, but it's not going to be as good a solution as coilovers without the air system. Pics indicate that the tracking is done on more reasonable-sized wheels anyway, the wheels in the original pic are definitely anti-functional as far as performance goes. From a purely aesthetic standpoint, I never agreed with bigger = better or lower = better (though the stock car *does* look too high to me), so a modestly powered car with dinky brakes on giant, busy-looking chrome wheels, that looks like it's on the bump stops just doesn't do it for me. For someone who DOES like that look, and wants to track the car, and has the $$$, I have no argument against it, it looks like a great solution for that person. But definitely not for me... |

You can have good performance on air, but it takes some time to dial everything in. |
