Also keep in mind not every header will give you the same results. Depending on design, they will add or subtract power in different parts of the powerband. If you're primarily concerned about the torque dip, make sure you look over people's dyno results and pick a header that fits what you're looking for. But to answer your question, yes the right header does make a noticeable difference.

I use Shell V-power too and no such noise as Petro-Canada 94.
I will put up with that for the added knock resistance. It's easy to shut the crickets up, as well.

Personal preference.

Are headers really worth it?

I haven't heard crickets since I started filling at shell

And they have the auto full thing so I don't have to hold the pump

A header is the only piece of 'naturally aspirated hardware' that actually does make a difference on this car.

Yes, with a tune IT'S HUGE. IMHO gutting and tuning is the single best HP/$ thing you can do. You can get an aftermarket header which can make slightly more power, but many have issues down the road with cracking at the welds and the extra heat can damage coil packs unless you wrap or coat. Gutting the OEM header can retain the OEM heat shielding so there is no extra heat (maybe there's even less heat without the cat?)

either way, if you get a catless header or gut, GET A TUNE to go with it. As for noise- there was a big increase in noise when I gutted the secondary cat. The increase in noise when I gutted the cat in the header was minimal. But yes, it will be noisier either way. But you also get extra burbling, popping and over run sounds too which are nice. and extra stink, which is not nice.

Ya that 2 or 3 minutes of holding a pump is a real bitch!

Flattening the torque curve makes a tremendous difference on the street. The gains above 5 grand are a bonus imo.
