Konig Ultraform - Flowformed lightweight wheels from a reputable brand!
Hey everyone,
I've been casually looking at a set of wheels for the following summer, and stumbled upon these new-for-2017 Konig Ultraforms. Look really good, almost like the PP wheels (available in Grey and Gold). Since they are so new, I haven't seen a thread for them or any person rockin' em yet. They're flow-formed, light-weight, have good sizing options for us BRZ/FRS/86 owners, and are reasonably priced from where I've seen online in the US anyways, as I can't find them anywhere in Canada right now. EDIT: $239.99 CAD in either size on 1010tires.com (Canadian website). On CarID (American site) they are $176.90 USD for 17x8, $182.70 USD for 17x9. I figure I may as well bring them to everyones attention, as I'll probably be going this route in the following spring. Sizes and weight for our cars listed as follows (5x100 bolt pattern):
And now, pictures: Cheers! Last edited by JBezugs; 04-13-2017 at 09:53 PM. |

the wheels look nice, but the multiple drill holes turn me off. I don't know why but it just looks cheap

That's a nice low weight for 17x9.
^^ Agreed. Not sure what the point of the extra little holes around the main holes are. Kindof a strange design decision.

It's nice lightweight wheels... but not a fan of 7, 9, 11 pattern design wheels. Sparco & Konig always do this. Price and spec is right... just the design Orz

Don't hate the design, but it definitely wouldn't be my first choice for wheels in this price range. To be honest, the 720Form GTF1's will be a winner for me for a loooooooong time.

Fair enough, different strokes for different folks; personally the 720Form GTF1's are attractive to me in terms of weight and price, but I'm not at all a fan of how they look. These Ultraforms however, I like very much. Either way, it's always nice to have more options in the same price range for solid, lightweight wheels; the greater choice we have for different tastes, the better.

They're not a mainstream brand, but I haven't had any issues with mine, and would 100% buy another set if I had to.

DAI wheels makes them apparently, from what I understand they're a canadian manufacturer. Heard great things about em on the forums, the specs are awesome too.

Side note... Most manufacturers have flow-formed wheels (or even a full lineup) in their product catalogs now. Often times they use another term for the process though (e.g. WedsSport - "AMF" process wheels and Enkei - "MAT" process wheels, Voxx "Feather Forged", Vorsteiner "Flow Forged", SSR "Semi-Solid Forging" etc.) Rays, TSW, Forgestar, Vossen, HRE, Momo, XO, Yokohama/Advan and D-Force, Ambit and of course 720Form also sell flow formed wheels noting the "flow formed" moniker as the process. So if you're looking for decently light and strong wheels you can comfortably check out those other MFGs as well.

Hmm, is SSR's semi-solid forging really flow formed? :/
