The people that don't know the car, don't notice the badge-swap and even if they do, don't care. The people that DO know the car, know it's a badge swap and aren't fooled or impressed. Might as well donate the money to the charity of your choice so it'll at least do some good.

I don't even think it's of the same level as a wheel swap. Even if it's purely aesthetic, wheels are the shoes of the car and lend personality. Badge swap is like stick-on air vents - it's the equivalent of wearing a pin on your jacket.

this is kinda my hope since I got the last production year of the SCION version of the car.
as an actual collector car (I lol just at that thought but hey...) I think a 10 series would be more valuable.

Scion used California for a test market for at least a year before it was released to the rest of the 49, and being a native Californian, I think that's kind of a cool part of Toyota history.

I had actually planned on re-badging to 86, then I found out scion was going away, so am still sporting my scion badges with pride.

I have said the same here about 100 times. The whole SCION sucks thing is a bias of a very small segment of the population and 99.999% of the people out there do not know nor care if it is badged as Toyota, Scion, Subaru or Yugo. The only way to impress them would to be badge it as a Ferrari or something and then the .0001% that do know what it is will laugh at you.

The badges are the nose ring of the car and still add personality even if it is just for the owner too enjoy.

I find it amazing that 5 years in and the bloody badges are still such a hot topic. It is just a freakin' badge.

Have Pontiacs sky rocketed it value? How about Saturns? Is a Mercury Capri worth more than a Mustang of the same vintage?
The fact that they were badged Scion will never, ever make them collectable. Yes, 30 years from now a 10 Series could be worth a couple of dollars more but it will have nothing to do with the Scion badges on it. Could also be valueless since the 18s will be turbo, AWD, with unicorn skin upholstery and full hover technology which would totally destroy the value of the prior models regardless of badge.
People seem to think this is the first time a badge went away. It is actually someplace in the hundreds of times it has happened.

It'll be like driving a Studebaker Avanti to the cars n' coffee.
Still cool and something to geek about.
