And even if it did have an 86 (which they don't) it isn't a GT 86!

Wait, Scions aren't cool now?! Were we ever cool or is it only the 86s that are cool? I'm trading in, I'm not driving no lame car.

Not cool to rebadgers, I guess. At least get the badges and location correct if you want a GT86.

If you want a GT86 you have to add a bunch of extras as well. I suppose the Monogram guys could claim to have GTs though.

Meh. It is the same as changing wheels, exhausts or even front bumpers. Some people just have preferences.

My goal with my build is to create a TRD vehicle that could have been imported to the US. I started with the Monogram but if I waited a few years, I could have started with the Banana Release. I could badge it as TRD but wanted to have a US version of the GT86. So that's the because and why not...

The Scion brand will forever be painted in the color of douche, despite how good a car the FRS was. In 50 years the very few xBs, iQs and other goofy shit models sold under the Scion name that will have escaped the crusher will be a novelty. The drivers will take them to swap meets and car gatherings where people will laugh and marvel, "Can you believe people actually drove around in cars that stupid-looking?" Kind of like AMC Pacers today, where it's so ugly it's cool.

At that point having your 86 badged as a Scion might score some geek points, but most people won't care.
