Backup camera stopped working
It's been years since I installed it but I think it's the Rydeen Duo camera with SVXdc wiring harness
![]() ![]() I checked and have power for the reverse lights signal ![]() I have power at the 12v ACC ![]() AND I have power at the camera power connector (but the test light is not nearly as bright) but only when it's unplugged from the radio. ![]() When the harness is plugged back into the radio the red wire loses power. ![]() So what's going on here?

I just went through this same thing, only my camera lasted about 4 months... From everything that I can tell, if the head unit doesn't detect a video signal on startup then it will stop sending out the 6V power from the head unit. I narrowed my problem down to being a bad camera by using a different source for the head unit (old digital camera with an RCA output). I've got another backup camera on the way from Amazon... I'll try and update when I get that installed.
Another thing that was helpful was to go into the diagnostics menu of the head unit as it is able to detect all the connections. If you go into the camera settings, you can see any feed that is present. Do this by holding down the "Audio" button for 3-4 seconds and then hold down another button while you are still holding the "Audio" button. |

Had an issue with my camera a few weeks ago, but I'm not exactly sure you'll be having the same issue. Mine turned out to have a broken wire going to the camera itself. How did you route your wiring in the rear?
I fed mine through the rubber connector that houses all the wires going from the body to the trunk. Had to do some emergency surgery to fish the wire out and re-solder it. If everything looks good up front, might have to head back to the camera.

I would start by redoing all the connections, even if they look good. I bet something came undone.

Id also consider soldering the joints or at the very least use a crimp connection

you're ground wire could be broken somewhere, check where you feed the wire through the trunk lid to the trunk, there's alot of friction there where the wires move.

Mine ended up being the wiring that goes from the trunk to the camera, couldn't really tell where it failed. My guess is something to do with either cheap wiring or the cheap connector. For reference, this is what I put in and it has a funny connector in a not so great spot for our cars that makes it nearly impossible to feed it through the trunk grommet.

My failure was also where the wires went through to the trunk lid at the flexible rubber tube. I bought a extra camera and used it for testing and that's how I tracked the problem down.
