Mine doesn't seem slick at all, odd. I love the steering wheel in this thing.

I test drove a 2016 and 2017 back to back, I didn't find either of them slippery, I preferred the wheel size in the 17.

If its anything like the old wheels the material will start to peel shortly to give you some added grip lol

I find mine to end up being pretty grippy. Even since day 1 I never felt it to slick.

I noticed this when I first got my 2017. Was afraid to use less than two hands to do anything. It has almost 9k miles and is fine now.

I've driven several 2017 BRZ's and have had no complaints about the wheel, which I'm 99% certain is the same as the 86. Working at a Subaru dealership, I can say that we slather stuff onto your interior, including the wheel, but it sounds like in your particular case, they either used bad shit or used too much good shit, that doesn't happen with us, and I work in detail so this is precisely my job

Ya yours was one of the very first we heard about arriving. There are still guys that ordered back in the fall that are waiting on theirs to show up.

Heya xD
If the airbags are the same size & compatible, I would gladly trade my 2013 wheel rim for a 2017... just PM me pls LOL Well I guess it would have to be close to local... or else I'll have to use my motorcycle to get to work for a week, waiting on shipping =P

I have a 17. They are slippery and delicate as hell. Don't wear anything on your hands or you'll damage the material. My wedding ring made a scratch on the material 😫

as others have said, the leather is too slippery, especially for a car like this.. needs more grip. and its thin as hell.
I'm already seeing some peeling on my wheel. Checked out the wheel at the autoshow this past weekend and it was also peeling. gonna bring it into the dealer to have them check it out. def prefer the 13-16' wheel |
