According to their website, American Muscle has the CDC version back in stock. There is also a GB going on on the Intec. Besides the fact the tape on the CDC version goes all the way around and the Intec is only on the top, any other differences between the two? Pros / cons to either design?

Going to add my opinion to this, rather than start a new thread.
Back in December or January, or maybe even February (honestly can't remember), I bought the Intec high mount brake light. While it is nice to have a "built-for" option for the twins, I found it lacked a well thought out design. To start with, the light is heavy, and only attaches from the rear. While it looked good, with no visible tape on the rear window, it would constantly fall down. I tried different types of tape and nothing seemed to hold it. The last straw was when it fell down the last time, the piece that goes into the headliner grommet snapped off. Basically leaving me with a $150 paperweight, because now for sure, it would never stay on. Enter the CDC light. While it isn't a perfect fit, it's super lightweight and the tape on all 4 sides is a big plus for me. I have absolute confidence in this piece actually staying attached to the window, much unlike the Intec one. Install was super easy, because I finally found a use for the useless piece of junk the Intec light was, and used the connector from it so that I didn't have to cut up the harness on my stock light, or actually hard wire it into the cars harness. Worst part about it was routing the wire, but all said and done, including all disassembly time, splicing time, etc, i finished in under 40 minutes. It may not be perfectly centred at the moment, but I may go back and actually measure everything out and do it right, but for the time being, still very pleased with how it turned out. If I do end up fixing it, I'll probably get a heat gun and try to mould it a bit better to the back window, but again, for a $50 dollar solution, absolutely overjoyed with how it came out. 10/10, would recommend to a friend. Basically I simply got the light module out of the spaceship, made a snug enclosure for it, covered in satin-black sprayed fabric and pushed it into the space where the shelf meets the glass.
Compared to the OE spaceship, effectively, with no reflection in the glass above, and tucked back further into the crack, it hardly obscures any view .... around a fifth of the original. Satin-black paint on black velvet seems less reflective than matte-black and plain black velvet alone fades lighter to gray.

My Intec brake light fell off as soon as the real summer heat began. The plastic tab that is retained by the OEM push pin is not rigid enough to hold the light tight against the glass.
My solution - a 3/8" bolt (black with a low profile head) will thread into the OEM hole normally occupied by the push pin. This enabled me to use a thin, black, metal support to hold the brake light housing tightly to the glass, and the support and bolt are almost no more obvious than the original install that failed. |

On a side tracking note my Wheelhaus's CF brake light keeps strong since the day it was installed. If there was any slight drawback, due no window heater there condensation in winter is very slow to clear. Any hints how to fix that?

I have the CDC "Mustang" brake light too, installed during summer and it held up extremely well during the socal heat however I just found out some of the LEDs are out! It looks pretty bad since it's not just one side, it's in the middle.
Has anyone with rear window tint removed the brake light cover successfully without removing the tint from the rear window? Worried the 3M is too strong for its purpose here... Also, any ideas on a replacement LED light bar or should I roll the dice on a new unit? |

Pardon my ignorance, but I have two questions.
1. When removing the third light, what do y'all do to cover the hole left by the stand in the parcel shelf finisher? 2. Why bother installing another light? Has anyone actually been pulled by the authorities for missing a third brake light? I ditched mine on my other car going on two years now and never had a problem. |
